1SP0635 Digital
The new 1SP0635 Digital gate drivers are designed for 190 mm x 140 mm IHM and IHV IGBT modules up to 3300 V. They combine PI’s SCALE-2 switching performance with a configurable isolated serial output interface, which augments driver programmability and provides comprehensive telemetry reporting for an accurate lifetime estimation. The 1SP0635V2A0D drivers dramatically increase overall visibility of the inverter’s health, reliability and efficiency.

SCALE-iFlex LT NTC
Our new SCALE-iFlex LT NTC plug-and-play gate drivers provide Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) data for the popular new dual style of 100 mm x 140 mm IGBT and SiC power modules. The new drivers handle paralleling so expertly that one module in five can be eliminated without loss of performance or current de-rating. Adding an isolated NTC output reduces hardware complexity and contributes to system observability and performance.

As auto manufacturers refine electric vehicle architectures, the number of relatively low-power (50 W to 250 W)high-voltage to low-voltage DC-DC converters is increasing. One factor for the increase in number of DC-DC converters is the elimination or size reduction of the 12 V battery.
The data to be presented will show how replacing silicon with GaN will significantly increase the effective power range that the flyback topology can address while still meeting automotive thermal challenges. The extension of the flyback topology is of particular significance because of its cost, simplicity and ability to generate multiple outputs.
When implemented with synchronous rectification, the volume of the solution is minimized and can achieve efficiencies >93%. The limitations of the flyback will be explored as well as how power can be extended further with active clamping.
