车外充电器

Off-board IconA critical barrier to adoption of electric passenger vehicles is the time to re-fuel. Drivers are used to spending approximately 7-10 minutes refueling an internal combustion engine vehicle so the goal for electric vehicles is to get as close to that number as possible. To address this ultra-high speed DC charging (HSDC) is becoming a standard vehicle feature, allowing charging rates of 120 kW to 300 kW depending on vehicle battery voltages.

In practice high speed charging for passenger vehicles is typically only used 10% of the time, when taking a journey beyond the range of the vehicle, and then typically only adding 100-150 kM of additional range is needed to reach the destination. Once at the destination the vehicle can recharge overnight.

The power electronics in an off-board HSDC charger consist of an PFC active front end, DC-to-DC converter and internal auxiliary housekeeping supplies. Gate drivers, flyback and buck solutions capable of operating at up to 1200 V are ideal for these designs.
