PI Webinar (China) - Low Standby Consumption Solutions for Home Automation

Smart homes and smart buildings require devices to integrate more functions, such as sensors, network connections, low-noise DC motors, intelligent voice interaction modules, etc. Designing these products using compact power supplies is a significant challenge for designers because many devices also require more than 2x peak power when operating motors or speakers. Minimizing standby power consumption is also a key issue in meeting regulatory requirements, since devices spend most of their time in standby mode. From the California Energy Commission to Energy Star and Energy Related Products (ErP), many global regulatory agencies have mandated energy efficiency requirements, and many of them are now placing increasing emphasis on standby energy consumption. For example, the new EU Regulation 2023/826 also covers motor-driven building components such as adjustable furniture/blinds/curtains/skylights, and limits power consumption in standby and off modes to no more than 0.5W from May 9, 2025 Effective from date.
This webinar will focus on design challenges and solutions for smart home and smart building devices. We'll explore how Power Integrations' ultra-low-power, high-efficiency AC/DC power switch ICs simplify design while meeting stringent regulatory and application requirements.
